How do you think George’s suggestion holds good on the trip on the river of life

Their trip becomes a metaphor for life. Much like their trip, people bungle through life thinking they are in control only to find out that life can be a comedy of errors. Expectations are often thwarted by the fact that people are not as  in control of their destinies as they would like to believe.
