I have to write a note on the book as a source of inspiration.

Also what is the purpose of the author to write the book?

The author's purpose was to write a comic travelogue. He was inspired by the trip he and his wife took along the Thames for their honeymoon. As for inspiration, the author's intention would be to inspire others to take the trip and hopefully learn from the mistakes of his characters.
