One important part of the Igbo culture is the polytheistic nature of their religion. This difference between the Igbo nation and the Christian missionaries creates a great deal of conflict. The missionaries condemn the Igbo religion and make no effort to see the ways in which it works for the community. The Igbo religiion is also full of life; like many polytheistic societies, they see much in nature and the workings of their gods in nature. Their religion is alive and always moving. It is not static at all; in comparison, Christianity seems very "dead."
