Certainly the oral tradition is of great importance to the Ibo. They do not read or forward memos. This mode of communication is a staple of their culture. With the arrival of the white man and the Bible, oral tradition is disturbed. THe art of Conversation is not shared by the white man which disrupts the delicate balance of their own culture.
