How does Janie responds after Joe's death?

Joe dies pathetically. Somewhere in his last breaths he is still trying to humiliate Janie. After he dies, she looks in the mirror and lets down her hair. Her youth is gone but she is free, she can finally move on to a better place in her life. She looks out the window and announces Joe's death.
