Why was Laurie reluctant to write an article about The Wave for the school newspaper?

Laurie is reluctant to have an article written about the Wave because she thinks they need to be careful. Laurie isn't impressed about some of the changes the Wave has brought about, and she actually find it a bit creepy. She does, however, tell the staff if they want to do an article, they need to do the research.
