What were the unexpected outcomes of the wave?

Basically Ben Ross gathers members of The Wave together at a Nazi-like rally at school. The kids are introduced to Adolph Hitler on a screen. This of course is supposed to be a huge let down but also a crowning "teachable moment". Mr. Ross has to help Robert Billings, the student most affected by the Wave, find his way again.
