Christy thinks the students like The Wave because it means they don’t have to think for themselves. She also dislikes the way Mr. Ross suddenly talks about his class like his students are better than the rest of the school.

Christy also notices that Mr. Ross is so excited talking about The Wave that he has failed to do chores around the house.
