What does Laurie say to quell or ease her mother's concerns about the Wave and does Laurie believe the argument she tells her mother 100% or is there a doubt in her mind?

Laurie tells her mother that she often takes things the wrong way.... in essence, she worries too much. She then describes the "positive energy" within the classroom and tells her mother that she would have to be there in order to understand it. At this point, I think Laurie believes what she's saying. She finds positives in the experiment, and she likes the way it has brought the students together..... its sense of inclusiveness.
