Pros.

People are treated equally. There are no favourites based on popularity, income...Everybody have the same motivations to obey the rules.

Things work better when all obey the rules. There is no time wasting debate, the "party" runs smoothly.

Cons

Takes away individual's right to chose.

Takes away any free ideas to make things better. Also takes away individual and collective right to protest.
