Act 3 scene 1
Although Ferdinand was born a prince, Prospero has him hauling logs. It is a humble task or "sport" to see how Ferdinand has changed. While Caliban complained about these menial tasks, Ferdinand is happy to do them. This of course has everything to do with his infatuation with Miranda. What better way for a father to test his daughter's suitor?
