Prospero and Miranda are father and daughter. Before arriving on the island, their lives were threatened, and they were set adrift upon a raft. The island is now their home. Miranda remembers nothing before their life on the island, and she humors her father's sorcery.... dabbling. Miranda does, however, draw the line at actions meant to hurt others. Prospero loves his daughter and wants her to be happy, but he is also careful to monitor her actions and guard her good name..... Prospero doesn't forget that Miranda's marriage is to his benefit as well.
