Why didn't Teresa tell Thomas she could contact Aris in the maze?

I thought she trusted him and yet she didn't tell Thomas? Is it because WICKED told her not to or because she liked Aris more than Thomas? And how did they know each other before their separate times in the maze? And how did WICKED kill Aris's best friend?
