The Red Badge of Courage
From examining the level of "ardor" in chapter one with the level of "ardor" in chapter three, which one moved like a thermometer from hot to cold? Explain
in chapter three
in chapter three
Chapter three of course. Chapter One was all about joining in the cause and getting into battle, uniforms and glory. Chapter three brings about change in that he's really going into battle. One minute he's up and the other he's down; he's afraid; he courageous, he's curious and then he wants to look away. Hot and cold is an apt description for the chapter. The youth doesn't know what to expect or what to feel, and his emtions are all over the place.
