Cahpter 19: Crane changes tone a little here. What is the forest doing to Henry?

The forest seems to give Henry a sense of wild confidence. His actions become slightly clearer, his energies more directed. He leaps for the flag. While it makes him more of a target, he also is attempting to master "the colors." If he can handle the red and the white of the flag, he will finally master his experience of war.
