The main difference between the greasers and the Socs is that they are from different social classes. Socs are entitled rich white boys who see the world as disposable. They are a fraternity of sorts but have little sense of brotherhood. Greasers are poor white boys who work hard or steal. Greasers form gangs with a strong sense of identity and brotherhood.
