In the exposition of The Most Dangerous game, Richard Connell introduces Sanger Rainsford, a famous big game hunter, who is sailing to South America to hunt jaguars. We are also apprised of the fact that he has little regard for his prey, and that he doesn't believe animals the animals he kills feel fear. Much of the story's exposition is centered around General Zaroff, who shares information about his past life in Russia, his military service, and his love of hunting.
