Help plz

The Sergeant-Major showed the Whites the paw, and then tried to toss it upon the fire. He tried to destroy the paw. It was Mr. White who snatched it from the flames. At that point, the Sergeant-Major tells him it would be best for the paw to burn..... he also reminds him that he's been warned.

"I won't," said his friend, doggedly. "I threw it on the fire. If you keep it, don't blame me for what happens. Pitch it on the fire again like a sensible man."
