How exactly does a Griever move ?

I read page 126&127 of chapter 19, but I can't  imagine it's movement when the book said "Every ten to fifteen seconds, sharp metal spikes popped through its bubous flesh and the whole creature abruptly curled into a ball and spun forward. then it...."

It has appendages and I believe it sort of moves like a spider. That's what I imagine it to do.
