Not the weakness of the characters, but the weaknesses of the entire book. Is it the layout of the book? The style? How it is sort of fragmented into many different stories at once?

I'm sorry, this questions calls for your opinion. There is no right or wrong answer. I love The Martian Chronicles, and I believe Bradbury to have been a man of great insight.
