I might consider Miig who is an important character because he serves the role as surrogate father and teacher to French and the other members of the group. French is with the group for several years before they reunite with Jean, French's biological father, but the bond between French and Miig is strong by then and French still spends a lot of time with Miig's group. Miig has obviously tried to ensure that French and the other members of the group are able to think on their own. He allows RiRi to hear part of their historical Story even though he fears she is not mature enough to handle the details. When French says they have to try to rescue Minerva, Miig allows him to make the decisions for the group, which shows that he has confidence in the young people he is leading.
