Father Carole is the official who is working with the government and who is secretly keeping Jean's group informed about events. He is the one who alerts them to the fact that Minerva is soon going to be moved, which gives the Native Americans the opportunity to try to rescue her. Father Carole is a sympathetic character who represents a positive figure in the Catholic Church.
