The Marrow Thieves

Question is down below:

At the beginning of “Magic Words” Frenchie tells us that the new arrival, Rose, makes him “feel like I needed to be a better person just through her existing” (32). Explain what Frenchie means by this. Relate this idea of someone else inspiring greatness to yourself – who makes you want to be a better person? What does this tell us about their relationship, or their potential relationship?

I think Rose pushes Frenchie to be a better person. Frenchie is also attracted to her. He wants to live up to new expectations: he wants to support Rose and the others even more than before. Rose is setting an example for Frenchie.
