How do the boys act on the morning of June 27th ?

This question is from the short story, the lottery. We had a half day yesterday, and my teacher didn't finish the story.This is a huge grade for me. i need evidence also. If you can find all of those things that would be amazing. Thanks

The boys begin collecting stones in their pockets. This is a bit of ominous foreshadowing,
