David wanted his teachers and classmates to know about him because he wanted them to understand that he wasn't just a dirty, little boy, who stole food out of trashcans. He wanted everyone to know why.... he wanted them to know that it wasn't something he chose, and it wasn't even a circumstance.... it was abuse.
