how does victor show courage?

Two examples of Victor's courage can be found in his willingness to leave the reservation for his education, something that was difficult and conflicting..... he persevered. Another way in which he displays courage is in overcoming his alcoholism. His life is destroyed by the habit and addiction, but in the end, he is courageous enough and highly dedicated to taking his life back.
