How many times does Mr Beaver refer to old rhymes or prophecy? Why do you think Mr Beaver does this

Mr. and Mrs. Beaver refers to prophecies three times over the course of the novel. Each of the prophecies are addressed in Chapter Eight and are used to address the end of the White Witches reign.... the end of the evil. The prophecies foreshadow Aslan's return and the end of evil.... they provide hope.

"Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight.

At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,

When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death.

And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again."

"When Adam's flesh and Adam's bone

Sits at Cair Paravel in throne,

The evil time will be over and done."

"...when two Sons of Adam and two Daughters of Eve sit in those four thrones, then it will be the end not only of the White Witch's reign but of her life."
