Edmund was under the White Witch's control. His mind was weak. He desired what the witch had to offer like "Turkish Delight". Edmund was still a slave to his worldly desires and petty emotions. The witch took advantage of his weakness.
He deeply knew about the witch's evilness but he was not listening to his heart as his conscience was covered with cloth of his desire, his wish of eating that Turkish Delight again.
