What clues do Percy and his friends have that all is not right with "Auntie Em"? Why do you think they overlook the clues?

Auntie Em acts strangely. She covers her face with a veil and acts overly friendly to them. She knows all their names without having been introduced. Auntie Em never eats with the kids and her statues look too lifelike and creepy. She also tries to take a picture of them without a camera.

She's actually Medusa, but she's pretending to be a nice store manger. Plus she even invites them to sit and eat in the back of her store so she can talk to them.
