Conflict

Grandmama is an 83-year-old woman. She is an immigrant who fails to adjust to life in a new country. She is the leader of the family and is constantly reminding her family of the Chinese traditions. She is strongly superstitious and likes for things to run in a mannerly fashion in her home. Throughout the novel, Poh- Poh portrays various characteristics, such as wisdom and strength.
