Katniss is selfless, loyal, brave, strong, compassionate....

"My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am seventeen years old. My home is District 12. I was in the Hunger Games. I escaped. The Capitol hates me.”

Actually, you are right. A quote that I really like, from the first book, is when Katniss volunteers herself in place of her sister Prim. It shows many of the traits that I mentioned above.

With one sweep of my arm, I push her behind me. “I volunteer!” I gasp. “I volunteer as tribute!”
