Contrast Katniss's relationship with Peeta and her relationship with Gale. How are they different?

Katniss remembers meeting Gale. They met while hunting separately in the woods, and she knew him only as another boy whose father had died in the explosion that took her own. They built a trust and friendship over time to become, finally, a team. Both Katniss and Gale come from poverty. Katniss's feelings are torn between the gentle, middle-class Peeta and her close partnership with Gale.
