Bilighter- A person who is regarded with contempt, irritation, or pity: "you little blighter!".

cavalcade: a procession of people riding horses or traveling in carriages.

purloined- stolen

runes- a type of writing (in The Hobbit runes are used in the writing on Thor's map)

toothsome- agreeable, great tasting, pleasant to the senses
