I don't recall anything happening to Cory. She goes after a guard who slaps her sister but her sister restrains her. At the end of chapter 13, Corrie grows gloomy and loses her sense of joy. The misery and pointless suffering wear Corrie down as she searches desperately for a greater meaning. At the end of the chapter, Corrie is alone and miserable without Betsie, who is her best friend, nearby.
Corrie ten Boom and her sister Betsy were imprisoned in concentration camps during World War II for hiding Jews in their homes in the Netherlands. As Corrie began to care more for Betsy and protect the two of them at her camp, she found that she could find strength and comfort in her faith in God.
Cory and Betsy endured many hardships and abuses in the camp, including hunger, cold, and mistreatment by the guards. But Corrie's efforts to care for her sister have helped her find meaning and purpose in her pain and keep her hope alive even in her darkest moments.
she eventually Betsy's health started to deteriorate and she died at the camp.
Corrie was devastated by her sister's death, but was able to find peace and fulfillment by honoring Betsy's memory and continuing to live by the values and beliefs they shared together.
