Why is it important that a story like Starr's is told?

Starr's story is important because it provides the world with a personal perspective..... it illuminates problems that many people cannot or refuse to see. It exposes injustice, racism, and profiling on a personal level, applying it to characters that we come to care about over the course of the story.
