The Great Gatsby
why do you thinkfitzgerald keeps focusing on the quality of daisys voice?
from ch. 1 and ch. 2
from ch. 1 and ch. 2
Nick mentions Daisy's voice throughout the novel. I don't think he's particularly flattering to her. He says she has a voice "full of money" reflecting her sense of entitlement and excess. Unlike Gatsby or Nick, Daisy has never known physical or monetary hardship. Daisy's voice lack's depth of experience.
