Tell me your opinion of Myrtle.

Myrtle is a sad woman, who hasn't gotten what she wanted out of life. She doesn't love her husband (he loves her), she is disappointed in her marriage, and she is disappointed with life in general. You have to feel sorry for Myrtle because she is so gullable..... she has actually convinced herself that Tom is the love of her life and the answer to her problems. She deceives herself as much as Tom deceives her. Sadly, she believes in something that will never happen. In this, she is a lot like Gatsby.
