How do you feel about the current affair?

I think most of these characters are superficial and relationships seem built around money. Daisy is perhaps the best example of this. I'm not convinced she is a very sympathetic character and her affair with Gatsby is largely based on her disposition for money. She might like Gatsby more than her abusive husband Tom but she manages to cry when she sees Gatsby's expensive shirts.
