What proof is there that Tom is telling the truth?

Early in the play, Amanda can hardly believe that Tom goes to the movies as often as he claims. What proof is there that Tom is telling the truth?

In the opening of Scene Four, while looking for his keys, Tom spills all of the movie ticket stubs out of his pocket.

Tom longs for adventure.the movies are his form of escape into his own world. He tells laura that he stays for double features. You also see that movie ticket stubs fall out of his pocket.
