What stands out the most about the Walls family time in Welch?
In the Welch section, what stood out the most about their family time?
In the Welch section, what stood out the most about their family time?
This question calls for your opinion, there is no right or wrong answer. I found the fact that it is in this section that Jeannette loses faith in her father to be the most compelling. As the only child who believed in him, the fact that Jeanette acknowledges her father's problems with drinking, and comes to see that he is the force holding the family down, is illuminating and sad. Even sadder, is the is the fact that she loses hope in her father as his problem with alcohol becomes more apparent, and even asks her mother to leave him.
