How does Jonas’ relationship with his parents and friends change after receiving his life assignment?

Jonas no longer has to participate in family rituals, and he learns many things that he cannot share. The same goes for his relationship with his friends. As a result of receiving the Giver's memories, Jonas comes to know and understand things that no one else could understand..... things that the people in the community truly wouldn't want to understand. Sadly, Jonas becomes isolated from the people he cared about. He does, however, create a strong bond with Gabriel, who will become a part of his future.
