@jill d I believe she is meaning within the book, "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, there is a part of the book where the family comes together for their feelings. The first person in the table to go is Lilly, Jonas, The main character, little sister. She tells them that there was a kid from another school who didn't follow their communities rules.

To answer the current question at hand though, we can assume she is angry due to she makes a fist.
