Is Eddie a relatable character? Why or why not?

Relatable? I find myself relating to Eddie's youth..... birthday parties, loss of friends and family..... mentoring by adults. Eddie's goodness and loyalty remind me of people I know. In essence, we can relate to Eddie in either or own lives, or through the lives of people we know.
