Comment on the five rules, found in Chapter 9, which Frank Colville requires the residents of North Hills to follow. Compare these with the rules by which Reef has lived his life since the death of his grandmother.

Reef expected a list of rules that began with the words "do not". He was surprised to see that these words did not precede even one of the rules.... that the rules were expectations..... the things you should do, rather than the things you shouldn't.
