Again, the play? The diary? All I can say is that she is closer to her father than she is to her mother, and he somewhat tries to downplay the seriousness of their hiding. He seems to give off the impression to her that
sorry - hit the wrong key - anyhow "give of the impression to her that they will have a regular routine, they will live day by day, and they will just do what they have to do to survive.
