As Annie described in the June 20 entry, how has life changed for Jews since May 1940? What is the purpose of such restrictions?

There were many restrictions. They could not go outside. They had to constantly be relatively quiet. They could not have visitors....Also they could only walk around in stocking feet and could not use the toilet or run water from 9:00 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening. They had to do these things to avoid being discovered.
