The Catcher in the Rye
Catcher in the Rye: How does Holden describe his father?
how does holden describe his father?
how does holden describe his father?
From the text:
My father's quite wealthy, though. I don't know how much he makes--he's never discussed that stuff with me--but I imagine quite a lot. He's a corporation lawyer. Those boys really haul it in. Another reason I know he's quite well off, he's always investing money in shows on Broadway. They always flop, though, and it drives my mother crazy when he does it.
As a matter of fact, my father was a Catholic once. He quit, though, when he married my mother.
You can hit my father over the head with a chair and he won't wake up, but my mother, all you have to do to my mother is cough somewhere in Siberia and she'll hear you.
