he was a doctor as seen by his confident assertion that he was a doctor. ‘I certainly am a doctor, but not anymore. We are able to develop a strong impression of Pavel in his confident assertion as a doctor. However, his last statement makes us wonder why he is not a doctor anymore, creating a mysterious impression of Pavel. It also evokes sympathy for him as we wonder why he was stripped of his title as a doctor.
