What doesn't Bruno understand the nature of his fathers job?

Bruno understand the nature of his fathers job only as far as he knows that  his father is "one of the good soldiers." Although Bruno feels there might be something darker behind his father's job, he gets little information from his father. When Bruno asks for details, his father is vague and even deffensive. Bruno does not understand that his father is in charge of mass killings involving innocent people in a death camp.

He is too young

Bruno was not able to understand the nature of his father`s job because he only knew that his father was a good soldier and he sometimes also felt the darker side of his father job was to kill innocent people and so he also tried to ask his father about his job .. but he didn`t tell much about that and also Bruno was too young to understand all this .

He doesnt understand because he Likes turtles everybody knows that ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
