What Kotler meant said that he liked history to Bruno ? He wanted encourage him to reading about Nazism and history?

I believe that Kotler was simply making conversation. He was sitting at dinner with the family and sharing his own liking for history gave him something to talk about. He didn't try to persuade either way, he only said that he preferred the social sciences to the arts.
